The bull is wild. The man wants to subdue him. Tame him. Eat him. And this since the dawn of time. TAURO - a short film about the second-oldest relationship in human history.
“It all starts with the cave paintings at Lascaux. Even then, the bull appeared on the walls of the cave, albeit as a popularly hunted foodstuff. But then it was domesticated, became a mythological creature, became a fighting animal, became a farm and breeding animal. Sometimes it is the hunter, sometimes the hunted, and its relationship with man has remained rather ambivalent since time immemorial.
Reducing this long development to a few scenes and animating it is a complete success here. The visual arc ranges from cave paintings to ancient vase paintings and Dürer's “Birth of Christ in the Stable” to Picasso's depiction of bullfighting. Music and editing fit together perfectly, the timing is perfect.” (Jury statement FBW: “Particularly valuable”)
